Get to Know Edwards Garment – Embroidery & DIY

Embroidery & DIY Department

One special thing about Edward’s Garment is our attention to detail. Not only do we make sure each product is up to our standard, but we can customize them to your liking.

You have read about the Distribution Department, and our Customer Service Department this month we are focusing on our hard-working and detailed oriented employees of our DIY department. These ladies and gentlemen work hard to make sure your order is customized, hemmed, and embroidered to your specific instructions. And it is just in time for National Thread the Needle day on July 25th! So let’s celebrate by giving you the run down of what goes down in our Embroidery + DIY department.

Need a garment embroidered?
Here at Edwards we have our own room that deals with sewing, embroidery, and custom orders. Have a shirt that needs a logo? It goes straight to embroidery where it is precisely measured on a green embroidery hoop and loaded onto the 12 head. We have ten 12 head machines, and each one can hold up to 12 colors. In total we have more than 40 shades of colors so we can match your logo perfectly. Over at this 12 heads is Debbie she says there are “a lot to choose from” but the coolest logo she has seen printed was the Brookdale logo.

Want to add a patch or colored trim?
Our lovely ladies over at e-Custom can make just about anything possible. From sewing on patches, taking off the original buttons and adding new ones, adding trim, or adding velcro, they can do it all! We are very lucky to have such hard-working employees with killer customization sewing skills. Below is Edith she is working on a project that requires her to add striping to cuffs, alter sleeve lengths, and add patches to suit coats. This picture does not capture the extreme look of focus and preciseness that she exudes when making all these alterations.

Pants too long?
Just because they are across the building does not mean that we forgot about them! Our hemming sector also has the magic fingers to make your pants that drag, to pants that are fab. These ladies can hem your pants in a blink of an eye. Cheryl says she may hem around 100 to 150 pants a day. Enough for a small army, all done by one woman. Impressive!

As stated before our final products would be nothing without this wondering department. They are always working their hardest to get these orders out the door, not only fast, but with the best customization and embroidery there is. Hats off to everyone single one of our lovely workers in the embroidery and e-custom department. You guys rock!!
