Yikes! Video conference in 10 minutes and you’re still in your sweats. Business partners will be on the call and you want to make the right impression. No worries, here are some helpful tips from Edwards to make sure your UP Dressing style is on-trend.
- Keep your outfits simple, clean and close by – you need to be able to put them on within minutes. So learn from Houdini and make sure you are a quick-change artist.
- Choose tops that are soft, cozy, and wrinkle-free. Avoid looking like a hot mess with a wrinkled shirt. Polos, chambray shirts, shirts & blouses, sweaters and pullover tops are a terrific choice.
- Color will define you. Select a color that is warm, inviting, and complements you. When in doubt choose a French blue or a great check or gingham patterned shirt or blouse.
- Casual or Professional meetings, finding the right top is critical. Dress for your audience. If you are meeting business leaders for the first time, throw a suit jacket on over a patterned shirt. And remember fuzzy slippers are optional.
- Lights, camera, action. Lastly, take time to run a comb through your hair, check yourself in the mirror, determine the best angle for the camera and make sure you have plenty of lighting. I mean why go to all the trouble of UP dressing if no one can see you!
