5-Star Hotel Uniforms

Valet, Bellman, Front Desk, Concierge, Administration, Restaurant, Pool/Spa, Housekeeping, Maintenance…the list of opportunities in a hotel or lodging property goes on and on. But, do you know where to start? In this blog, we will look at some trends we’ve noticed in the hotel industry as well as our advice on where to start when working on a uniform program with hotels.

Here are some trends that we’ve noticed in the hotel industry:

  • Brands, Brands and More Brands. Recently we’ve seen an increase of market segmentation. Think of your preferred hotel brand – most likely they belong to a larger brand of properties (i.e. Choice, Marriott, IHG). 
  • New construction continues to grow – mainly in large cities and each property wants their staff to look different than the staff down the street or right next door.
  • Staffing is getting more difficult (and it was difficult pre-COVID).  Turnover is growing, wages are increasing and this is causing a squeeze on profits.

When trying to begin working with a hotel property, we recommend starting with housekeeping or the front desk. The housekeeping team usually has a high amount of turnover and the demands on the uniform require new uniforms fairly often.
